Our Double Jeopardy divisions offer players the ability to compete in both an 8-ball and 9-ball division on the same night, giving each team double the chance to qualify for the National Team Championships in Las Vegas.
Two teams will play against each other on two tables. One player from each team will play an 8-Ball match on the first table, and at the same time, another player from each team will play 9-Ball on the other table. When one match is finished, teams will each select another player to continue with the next 8-Ball or 9-Ball match. This continues until all 5 matches are played on both tables.
There are two benefits to playing in a Double Jeopardy division:
1. You are getting double the chance to win your Division, advance to a Tri-Cup Tournament, advance to the Local Team Championships, and win a trip to Las Vegas. For example, maybe your team is in first place in 8-Ball, even though you are in 5th or 6th place in 9-Ball.
2. Everyone usually plays on every night. In a normal 8-Ball or 9-Ball match, 5 players will play. Since teams usually consist of 8 players, that means not everyone will be playing each night. In a Double Jeopardy division, teams will play two different matches, each one requiring 5 players. This means that usually every player on the team will play either 8--Ball or 9-Ball on any given League night. In fact, some players will play both. More pool = More fun!
